Yep. It's official. I'm in for Leadville this year.
I've been checking the mail all week waiting for this silly little postcard. Tonight I'm in Los Angeles and I called my wife to see if anything special came in the mail today. When she told me I got a postcard from Leadville, I asked her to take a picture and email it to me. She replied "Um. no, that's gay..."
I've been debating about riding my geared bike and trying to break the sub 9 time or riding my single speed and hanging with Dug. (Dug- redemption will be so sweet). I think I need to give the sub 9 another try. Either way, it's going to be painful.
$240 bucks and 8 months of training just to suffer like a dog for 100 miles. It's crazy but I'm so excited to do this again.

you need to go for the sub 9. i'm going to be waaaaaay behind you, even if rode your single. mine will be the beer group.
Dug- I still fear you. You are one of the fast guys. Besides, whenever the trail turns downhill, I'm always afraid you will catch.
Sam- I'll see in Leadville.
Tony- Keep checking your mailbox. I'll prepare a gift basket to send to the race organizers just in case they need a bribe.
Start preparing one heck of a gift basket because I just got my check back in the mail.
I thought getting over the hurdle of committing to do this would be the hard part ... Damn lotteries!
