Cycling- The New Golf Part II

Have you ever been talking to someone, having a pleasant conversation and then all of a sudden the person you're talking to starts practicing his golf swing? AS YOU ARE TALKING TO HIM? Do you find that offensive like me?

What do you do when that happens?

Would it be acceptable to go get my mountain bike from my truck and roll over to his cube and start practicing my track stand? No. It would not be appropriate. So why do golfers feel like it's acceptable to start swinging?

I hate golf. HATE it.

Next time that happens, sit down in a chair and start pedaling circles. Or maybe some single-leg pedaling drills.

You can't practice your trackstand but you can practice drafting techniques by following him around the office really really closely.

I played golf for a year. It's an OK game, but it was too mellow for me. Maybe I'll take it up again when I get old(er) but for now my body works pretty good so I'm doing more active stuff like cycling.

What if all the golf course were converted to bike parks, bmx tracks, velodromes?

cmon man. it's okay. it's just a fake golf swing. what it means is, he's bored or nervous.

if he's bored, maybe you should be more interesting.

if he's nervous, maybe you should beat him up and take his lunch money.

Just start practicing your golf swing also, he'll feel like a tool and quit.

I cannot believe that kanyonkris just said something is too mellow for him. kanyonkris is the absolutely most mellow person i have ever met in my life. i have become thirty percent more mellow as i typed this, just thinking about how mellow kanyonkris is.

i wish kanyonkris were named "mel," so i could say "mel puts the 'mel' in 'mellow.'"

in fact, upon consideration, i hereby intend to call kanyonkris 'mel' from now on.

So the truth comes out about your feelings for golf. Agree to disagree. But, I bet it was me who took a backswing in your conversation. If it was, my bad. You never know when you might have a long drive contest in the backyard. So you might as well be warmed up all the time.
