I recently built up a loaner/back-up bike with spare parts. A bike I can use when my good bike is in the shop. Or a bike I can lend to a friend in need. But here is the rule. You can borrow the bike but you MUST ride it with the number plate attached. Think of it as a rental or fleet number. A way to keep track of it.
I like that rule. It's a good rule.

Getting Ready
Night bike practice tonight. Getting ready for this.
Have I mentioned how creepy Corner Canyon is at night when riding solo? I stopped to pee and found myself peeing in a circle so my back wasn't exposed at any given side too long.

Thursday Night Breakfast
The Thursday night rides should really be called the Thursday late night breakfast feast cuz that's the part I really look forward to. It's the best type of post ride chill.
Maybe next time the email will thread will read:
"Hey everyone, we are meeting at Village Inn for breakfast at midnight...Oh, and if you want, let's meet a little earlier for a ride."
Did you know about the V.I.B deal at Village Inn? It gets you any get 4 items of food for just $6.59? I went with the follwing combo: Pancakes (2), bacon (2), eggs (2), and hashbrowns
I was too tired to shower so I went to bed dirty but with a full stomach.
The Hell-O-Ween ride is just around the corner. Do you have your costume figured out?
Should we do this in Draper, the UC, or Glenwild? Or somewhere else?

Church Parking Lots
Another good reason to be a cyclist in Utah. The LDS Church parking lots. You can find one every few blocks. To the non-cyclist, this may not seem like much of a perk but to the cyclist, it's a good thing.
- The perfect meeting place for a ride offering plenty of parking.
- Usually has an abundance of shade trees to keep your car cool while you ride.
- Pre-ride and post-ride, a great place to get naked and change without worrying about a co-worker seeing you with your clothes off.

FLY Bib Update
I got a few pics back on the FLY bibs. We are tweaking the color a bit to get a better match with the blue but they should be in very soon. I hope to have them in before CX season starts up.
Sneak peek.

24 Hours Of Moab 2010
Look for Team Adobe in the singlespeed/open div at the 24 Hours of Moab this year.
I have a feeling I'm going to be the slow guy with names like this on the roster.
Nick Rico
Kenny Jones
Corey Larabee
Me
I'm pretty excited about it. Praying for good weather.
Now accepting applications for a team cook. It's easy to mess up Top Ramen at 3am after a night lap.

The Night Train
The Night Train was out last night and was eleven strong. The pace started out mellow and nice on the 1st climb (Canyon Hollow) but turned anti-social on climbs 2 (Ghost) and 3 (Canyon Hollow again).
I usually avoid Clarks any more during the day due to the traffic but the night rides are different. No crowds at night. Although we did run into two guys coming up Clarks last night.
Here is a tip....we all know the yield rule. The climber has the right away and the downhiller must yield. But if you are climbing and see a rider coming down. Don't keep hammering. Let up a little. Give the downhiller a chance to brake and shed some speed.
Clarks at night seems twice as fast. Someone will eventually end up in the ER but no injuries last night (and Rico was even wearing the cursed yellow shoes)
We fueled up on pancakes and bacon at the local Village Inn. And I actually drank some water (may have been the only water I drank yesterday besides the half bottle during the ride).
Anyone know how much a new kidney goes for on ebay?

The Perfect Race For Mark
Dear Mark,
I found the perfect race for you. I know how much you like single speeds. Choose your gear wisely and please don't complain about how hard it is. Good luck.

Wish You Were Here
I think what Fatty and Grizzly meant to say was "Hey, I really wish you were here suffering along side me instead of sticking that camera in my face".

PCP2P- Mile 60
I spent 2.5 hours hanging around at mile 60. This is what it looked like.
Jon gets the love from his girls
Kenny & the beast (Sly Fox)
Bob S. - Loading up for more fun
Brandon "Night Race Champion" in the pain cave.
Aaron avoiding eye contact
Miles heading out for more and looking way too happy after 60 miles.
Sam cooling the engine
Dave going over the game plan with the Rico twins
Brad, the "hair farmer" doing his best Paris-Roubaix impression
Jamie "The Wrench" in deep thought.
The bearded lady coming in to feed
and say a prayer
Fatty about to say something really funny
Jon gets the love from his girls
Dug with his magic soup.

FLY Jerseys Are Here
The first shipment of FLY gear arrived today. Just in time for PCP2P. For those of you still trying to figure out your racing kit for Saturday, consider this jersey.
They look and feel very fast.
The colors turned out really nice. The sizing runs true. I tried on the large and it fits perfect. Fitted but not tight. And the sleeves are longer and looser than most jerseys. I couldn't be happier.
Still a few left if you want one.
Good luck to those racing PCP2P this weekend!
