The date is set for Thursday, June 17th @ 9pm. (10 days is plenty of time to train and get yourself into racing form).
In honor of Brad, we're going to keep this race in Draper one more time. Brad is moving soon and has made it clear he will not drive to the UC to participate. His time is running out for a shot at the belt, so let's keep it close to home. (I promise to give the UC guys their shot at home court on the next one).
But we should we mix up the course and do something different? I was thinking of the same neutral start from the equestrian center, but this time, let's go:
- Up Ghost and then up the jeep road over to the top of Rush
- Down Rush (Jamie's trail)
- Up Canyon Hollow to Brocks
- Down Clarks
- Down Creekside
If anyone has a better route idea, speak up now.
$5 entry fee, winner gets the cash and The Belt.
If anyone has something they can/want to donate as prizes so the non-competitive guys walk away with something, please let me know.
If you don't own a light, you are missing out. You have 10 days to go get one and join the fun.

My wife is scheduled to be induced that morning for our boy's birth. I will keep you posted. Who knows maybe he will come earlier. Don't think a an hour or two at night to defend my title away from the hospital should hurt, would it? We shall see. I need to meet you early one morning to pre-ride the course.
that is a great course. i think what you do is say, these 4 segments must be ridden in this direction (up or down), and the order you do them and the way you get to them is up to you.
i'm in. i will donate a 12 pack of diet coke with lime for the raffle.
Brandon- Think of this as a way to earn some extra money to pay for formula and diapers.
Dug- You might be on to something. Good idea.
Cycling season started today. See you there
I like it. I'm in.
Thanks, I'm not worthy. I was thinking the same thing today as I was crushing Rush, we should race this. I'm in, need to find a helmet light. Suddenly this means more than any ICUP.
Brad, the helmet light is on the charger, itchin' to go fast.
Rick, I guess the cat will be out of the proverbial bag soon enough. Rush will be undergoing a face lift of sorts over the next 2 weeks. We're hoping to put the "flow" in flow trail. Joey Kline and the boys will be working their magic and we'll be putting the shine on it afterwards. Not sure if it'll be ready for race day.
I'll keep you posted.
BTW, I can't do the 17th, I'm leaving mid-day that day for Lake Powell.
I'm bummed that I won't be able to race that night, because the Rush downhill would definitely give me the home court advantage. I kinda know it like the back of my hand. :)
We'll have to include it in one of our future races.
Brad- I have a nice helmet light (Niterider- Flight) you can use any time.
Jamie- I can't imagine Rush getting any better. I rode it a few days ago and had a huge smile on my face. But thanks for the update. I'd hate to race against you on your own trail. Totally not fair.
Excited to give this another go!
By the way, you said riding my new single speed would hurt for two weeks. Its been two weeks and ... it still hurts... a lot.
I'll be there. What about adding a quick jaunt up Jacob's somewhere in the mix? That extra grunt to the top and the slightly technical aspect in the dark made last race awesome.
I'll be there, more for ride than the belt...maybe one day.
