Hell Night (Yes, I know it's only August....)

Growing up in Michigan as a young kid, I remember being scared to death about Oct 30th. Otherwise known as "Devils Night" or "Hell Night". I have no idea why Michigan adopted this tradition but it was real and it meant that we couldn't go out that night.

Now that I'm older and find myself in need of adventure to feel young again, I'm proposing our own Utah tradition of "Hell Night". I'm calling it "Hell-0-ween". Instead of acts of arson and vandalism, I'm proposing we bust out the mountain bikes, dress up in costume, slap on the lights, and ride.

Details on the poster (click to enlarge).

Two months advance notice should give you plenty of time to work on your costumes and arrange your schedules.

$1 entry fee. The winner of the "Clarks" climb gets the cash (the rest of the ride will be a casual group pace). Spread the word. The more people that show up, the bigger the cash pot.

There will also be prizes for the best costume.

dug- did you just call me "Dude"? Now go work on your costume. You have only have two months. If you think that's plenty of time, you are mistaken.

Will there be candy? I am only coming if there is candy.

Rick, We (Adam, myself and others)were just discussing holding such an event after the very fun costume ride for the finale of the Sundance/SH weekly series.
I agree with Brandon though, candy should be requisite, perhaps contestants should not only dress up, but have to ride Clark's with a mouthful of candy corn, now that would add a level of difficultly than Liberachi rings couldn't achieve.

KK- I trust you will represent.

Rob- If you tell, I will hunt you down.

JJ- stay out of Gina's special outfits.

Brandon- There will be plenty of candy but you had better eat it.

Keith- Feel free to make suggestions or add to the idea. That's why I wanted to get the word out early. Plenty of time to tweak. I can't imagine the foam around my mouth if I tried to race up Clarks with candy corn. Sounds like a fun idea.

You need to level the playing field on the time clock up clarks. Can you at least have a Clydesdale Category?

What the hell(night) is wrong with all you race promoters out there expecting me to compete agaisnt you skinny guys?

And another thing why I'm ranting. While I'm riding Leadville next to these skinny SS the fans would say "oh yeah single speed, right on man" like that is just amazing. Give me a break I grew up riding single speeds with the rest of the world. I had a banana seat too. Big damn deal.

I figure I can swear since we are talking about Hell night.

No one was saying "Ooogh yah. Clydesdale coming. right on bro."

So Fix your dang ride!!!!

I'm not signing on to give $1 to Brad unless he puts a backpack on full of rocks and dresses up as the Hunchback of Notre Dame!!!

(by the way, nice job on your single speed!! Ooogh yah. You rock!)

I love it. JJ break the "T" back out again. How about some hot chocolate/cider and maplebars at the top of Clarks?

Jill,
Can you get Tony a new set of wings? I laugh every time I think of the tree that got the best of them. I'd love to help with pre or post race food!
