My Dark Side

Here is a fun exercise to put you in a really, really bad mood.
  • Skip out of work early on Friday, drive 30 miles to 5 Mile Pass and pre-ride the ICUP course.
  • Make your special pre-race dinner (spaghetti w/ cottage cheese)

  • Spend time cleaning and dialing in the bike
  • Wake up, force down some Oatmeal and a powerbar
  • Drive 30 miles to 5 Mile Pass in the rain
  • Pull up to the parking only to get confirmation that the race has been delayed and maybe postponed.
  • Turn around and drive home.
  • No ride. No race
It's one thing to not get a ride in, but it's a completely different thing to plan on racing, go through all the rituals, eat oatmeal, drive all the way out there, only to turn around and go home.

I wasn't in the best of moods on Saturday. In fact, I showed my darker side for most of the day.

Turns out. Plan B wasn't too bad. Took the kids swimming and then to Training Table for some greasy cheese fries. Rachelle did her best to cheer me up.

Racing is silly. I don't know why I get all worked up over it.

the key is NOT to get worked up, the crazy thing is that the only way NOT to get worked up is to race more, mid week races help.

I was doing the sprinkler dance while 'warming' up on the trainer. WHile driving out part of me wanted to do the race cause it was silly, part of didn't want to do it, cause it was silly, I am stupid, so that is what wins out.

Most of your food pics (maple bars, kneaders french toast) look appetizing. But spaghetti with cottage cheese? No wonder you were in a bad mood.

I'm going to back you up with the cottage cheese and spaghetti. But of course...we had the same mom...and ate the same lasagna...stuffed with cottage cheese.

(have you told them about the peanut butter and pickle sandwiches yet?)

Wha...? Really? Spaghetti w/ cottage cheese...not good? It's amazing. In fact, cottage cheese with just about anything is great.

Bob- I got a kick out of your post. Such a bad feeling to lost track of time.

Mark- Ask your wife to make it for you. Trust me.

Rob- The World Wide Web isn't ready for peanut butter and pickles. Not yet.

So Rachelle "did her best to cheer you up" huh?

I need to have Whit "cheer me up" more often. I didn't know that's what the kids were calling it these days.

That part had to be fun, right?

Spaghetti with cottage cheese sounds good to me. Just a different form of lasagna. I've gotta try that.

Racing is silly.

Jamie- You need to go visit VH1's blog. You'll like his story.

I almost called you on Friday night so that you could talk me into racing on Saturday. Lazyness does have its advantages.
