60 Minutes of Dirt

My boss must wonder why I come back from lunch with a big fat smile on my face.   From my cubical at work, I can be on some really good dirt trails in about 3 minutes.  60 minutes on dirt is like a reset button.  Makes it all good again.

I'm getting pretty good about changing in the parking lot.  It's only a matter of time before some coworker sees me with just my bibs and no shirt on.  It's a great look.

(sorry about the lame footage.  The trails are too steep to film while riding.  I only captured the boring stuff but enjoy the music.  Can you name the band and song?)

Alice in Chains - Would?

It's hard to go wrong with 90's grunge. I still remember waiting in line at midnight to buy Pearl Jam Vs. in '93. All that stuff: Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana was/is good stuff.

Lunch rides (or runs, basketball games, raquetball, etc.) should really be required by employers to increase productivity. Think of the difference it would make versus the normal routine of driving to a fast food restaurant.

utrider- nice one. For some reason, I've been stuck on Alice in Chains. It's good riding music.

I agree with you on the productivity point.

What are you using to film your rides? Your blackberry or something else?

I remember watching Alice in Chains at Lolapalooza '93. Layne Staley was so drunk he reached for the microphone and missed. Great concert, though. Primus was the headliner but lame by comparison, so we went home.

Methinks I should seriously look at moving to Utah...you get to do this ride from work? At lunch? Sigh.

The MTV Unplugged version of that song is great too....different vibe, but still intense. Sweet ride.

Why are you changing in the parking lot? No place to change in the building? Ashamed of your cycling addiction? Exhibitionist?

Was it all dry up there? Sure looked like it. I need to get up there for a night ride.

ciclista, Rick has a Flip video camera.

changing in the parking lot is way more exciting than in the bathroom. Adds an element of adventure.

La isla bonita is going on my next clip

"Adventure... Excitement... A Jedi craves not these things." And aren't you a SS Jedi? Just hassling you.

Weird. La Isla Bonita popped into my head this weekend.
